Following the decision taken by Gerald Silvey to make a break in his working career, Ed Perry has recently joined Ernest Doe Power as General Sales Manager.
After completing an HND in Agriculture specialising in Arable Mechanisation at Writtle Agricultural College Ed worked as a Farm Manager in South Africa before embarking on an Army career. Commissioned into the Royal Artillery, he served for 10 years and reached the rank of Captain before leaving to undertake a commercial career. After running his own specialist engineering companies Ed became Head of Operations at a Suffolk agricultural machinery manufacturer.
In 2015 Ed joined Ernest Doe Power as Sudbury Branch Manager, a role he excelled at and one which allowed him to use all his agricultural knowledge to run a successful branch and to follow his passion for farming.
Ed has had a short spell away from Ernest Doe Power working for a neighbouring Case IH dealer but in his own words “I am delighted to be back with Ernest Doe Power in such a senior role, when this opportunity came along I knew this was the job for me as it fits my skillset perfectly.
I believe passionately in the Case IH brand and what it has to offer, both to us as a dealer but more importantly the farming clients we serve. Case IH is a true full liner offering tractors, combines, balers and telehandlers of quality and innovative design and I can’t wait to get out there to tell farmers in our region what Case IH/ Ernest Doe Power have to offer”.
Graham Parker, Ernest Doe and Sons Ltd, Sales Director commented, “I worked closely with Gerald Silvey for many years and when Gerald said he was looking to take life a little easier I knew he would leave a pair of big shoes to fill.
In my mind however, Ed Perry has “big feet” and with his engineering skills and agricultural experience we are delighted by his appointment.”
Ed will work from our Ulting, Essex Head Office but will be regularly visiting our Ernest Doe Power branches and customers across East Anglia and the South East.
