Horticultural Service Technician

Ernest Doe is the UK’s largest agricultural, construction and groundcare machinery dealership, turning over £150m per annum from 19 locations across East Anglia and the South East.

We are currently looking for a Part time Horticultural Service Technician to support and join the existing team at our Marlesford branch, based in Suffolk

Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Service Manager, your responsibility will be to repair and maintain all equipment associated with groundcare machinery, both professional and domestic. The successful candidate will be keen and driven to ensure high levels of customer service.

Responsibilities/Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of Utility and/or Garden machinery or small Agricultural machinery
  • Knowledge of both Domestic and Professional Grass Machinery
  • Ability to diagnose hydraulic and electrical faults
  • Excellent customer service skills both face to face and over the telephone
  • Has the ability to work alone using your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area within the workshop
  • Clean and tidy general appearance
  • Maintain a good general level of health and fitness
  • Full clean driver’s licence

Additional Information

  • Start Date:
    Immediate, but subject to successful candidates notice period
  • Hours:
    8am to 4.30pm, three days per week by agreement, (30 minute unpaid lunch break)  
  • Salary:
    £Competitive, depending on experience
  • Benefits:
    32 days annual leave including bank holidays (pro-rata based on working 3 days), Company Sick Pay Scheme, Workplace Pension, Staff Discount in Country Stores and Death in Service Cover (2 x salary)
