Horticultural Service Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Horticultural Service Technician to join the existing team here at our Esher branch, based in Surrey.

Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Service Manager, your responsibility will be to repair and maintain all equipment associated with domestic groundcare machinery sold by the company’s sales department.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain equipment for customers associated with Groundcare machinery including tractors less than 140 HP.
  • Knowledge of Utility Vehicles, Tractors and or commercial Grass Cutting Machinery.
  • Diagnose faults and successfully carry out repairs which may be chargeable, warrantable or internal type jobs.
  • Lifting of heavy machinery, applying common sense to items that require the assistance of special tools
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers as required.
  • Complete in full the job cards relating to work undertaken including machine detail, time and mileage and any accompanying documentation such as PDI sheets, Delivery forms and Photo’s as necessary.
  • Attend training courses as required by the company to maintain satisfactory levels of compliance and understanding

  • Enjoy working in a busy atmosphere and can cope under pressure during busy periods
  • Able to work alone and on your own initiative
  • Maintain a good general level of health and fitness
  • Excellent customer service skills as this is a customer facing role

Additional Information

  • Start Date:
    Immediately, but subject successful candidates notice period
  • Hours:
    39hrs per week – 8am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm Friday (1hr unpaid lunch) Overtime paid at time and a half on completion of 39hrs Monday to Friday
  • Salary:
    £Competitive, depending upon experience
