Goods In Operative

We are currently looking for a Goods In Operative to join the existing team here at our Albourne branch, based in West Sussex.

Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Parts & Retail Manager, your role will be to assist with the organising and control of the goods inward area at Albourne, but also successfully distribute goods to other branches in an efficient and timely manner. This area must be organised and effectively arranged for quick and easy access to the Parts/Retail team.

Responsibilities:

  • Transfer of stock into the stores and showroom
  • Unpacking branch ‘bins’ and processing supplier parcels
  • Loading and unloading of internal lorry
  • Management of customer delivery and collection shelves
  • Stock checking when required
  • Management of showroom stock
  • Provide efficient, effective and friendly customer service
  • Have an understanding of relevant goals and targets set for the parts department and branch
  • Follow company procedures and guidelines and appropriate health & safety measures whilst undertaking your role

Required Skills:

  • Enjoy working in a busy atmosphere and can cope under pressure during busy periods
  • Good communication skills: face to face, letter, email and fax
  • General computer skills
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • A team player-capable of working alone or with other team staff
  • Maintain a good general level of health and fitness
  • Able to work alone and on your own initiative
  • Full Driver’s licence
  • Forklift Licence (desirable)

Additional Information

  • Start Date:
    Immediate, subject to successful candidates notice period
  • Hours:
    30hrs per week – 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday
  • Salary:
    £Competitive, depending on experience
