Apprentice IT Administrator

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice IT Administrator to join our team. In this role, you’ll work alongside our IT and Communications Manager to learn how to support, maintain, and improve the company’s IT systems. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career in IT with hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide basic IT support to staff, both remotely and face to face
  • Assist with setting up new equipment (computers, printers, tablets, phones, etc.)
  • Help create and manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions
  • Support the upkeep of systems such as Active Directory and Microsoft 365
  • Learn how to apply updates and security patches to devices and servers
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining company software and applications
  • Work with senior IT staff and external suppliers to resolve technical issues
  • Help support IT security, including antivirus tools and firewalls
  • Assist with diagnosing and resolving hardware and network issues
  • Monitor and check system and data backups
  • Provide general technical support to users and the wider IT team
  • Take part in ongoing training and development
  • Help with day-to-day IT administration tasks
  • Support mobile phone setup and management
  • Occasionally visit other company branches with a senior colleague
  • Contribute ideas for improvements as you gain confidence
  • Assist the IT Manager with ongoing tasks and projects

  • Full driving licence (or working towards one), as travel may be required

Additional Information

  • Start Date:
    Immediate but subject to successful candidates notice period
  • Hours:
    37.5 hours per week – 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (1 hour unpaid lunch)
  • Salary:
    £Competitive, depending on experience
  • Benefits:
    32 days annual leave including bank holidays, Company Sick Pay Scheme after 6 months, Workplace pension after 3 months, Staff Discount in Country Stores and Life Assurance Cover (2 x salary)
