Horticultural Warehouse Supervisor

We are currently looking for a keen and driven Horticultural Warehouse Supervisor to join and supervise the existing team here at Head Office, based in Ulting, Essex.

Role Purpose:

Reporting directly to the Groundcare Sales Office Manager, you will be responsible for controlling the stock of Groundcare machinery in our main warehouse, along with assisting other areas as required. You will also be responsible for the distribution of goods to our other branches across East Anglia and for Lawnmowers Direct; our online business.

Essential Skills/Experience/Requirements:

  • Previous supervisory or management experience is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal diplomatically with suppliers and colleagues in a polite and professional manner
  • Able to communicate to all levels of the business
  • Transfer of stock to the showroom/goods inward area
  • Stock checking inventory
  • Unpacking and accurate processing of supplier parcels
  • Loading and unloading of supplier lorries
  • Forklift licence (desirable)
  • Full driving licence
  • General computer skills and familiarity with use of email and internet use
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Good attention to detail as recording stock data
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • A team player – capable of working alone or with other staff members
  • Able to use own initiative
  • Maintain a good general level of health and fitness – lifting up to 25kg

Additional Information

  • Start Date:
    Immediate, but subject to successful candidates notice period
  • Hours:
    39hrs per week – 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm Friday (1hr unpaid lunch)                         Saturdays will be required in order to fulfil duties (2 per month) Overtime paid at time and a half on completion of 39 hours Monday to Friday, double time on Sundays or Bank Holidays

    £Competitive, depending on experience
