Branch & Sales Manager

Founded in 1898, our family-owned firm supplies a wide range of machinery; from garden mowers and chainsaws to combine harvesters and construction excavators as well as selling a huge selection of clothing, footwear, garden sundries and DIY products across 19 country stores.

We are looking for a keen and driven Branch & Sales Manager to embrace the management of our Wymondham Branch, in Norfolk.

Role Purpose:

You will have full responsibility for the management, profitability and efficient daily operations of the Wymondham branch, managing 22 members of staff across parts, service, sales and branch administration. You will promote and represent the business, providing the highest levels of service to existing customers and identifying and nurturing new prospects, whilst working with the Sales Manager’s to promote successful sales of Agricultural, Construction and Domestic Groundcare machinery.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Previous management experience of a large team is advantageous
  • Knowledge of agricultural, construction and groundcare industry and its equipment would be advantageous
  • Daily management and motivation of staff in accordance with company procedures, encouraging strong sales and service culture through leadership, coaching, guidance and ongoing development of branch personnel
  • Work with the branch Agricultural and Construction Area Sales Managers to get an overview of sales activities, so the very best in after sales customer care can be offered by the branch
  • To specifically take charge of all aspects of the branch domestic groundcare sales activities
  • Familiarity of profit/loss management reporting is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal diplomatically with customers during busy periods both verbal and written
  • Maintaining all records efficiently and effectively as required
  • Ensure that information is communicated effectively and in a timely fashion
  • Can remain calm under pressure
  • Be organized and have the ability to multitask efficiently
  • Can deal with staff related matters confidently and in line with company procedures
  • Proactive and methodical in approach to problem solving
  • Target driven with the ability to upsell to achieve and exceed targets
  • Have the ability to be influencing and persuading to close a deal
  • Have the ability, where necessary, to demonstrate equipment
  • Full driving licence is required

Additional Information

  • Start Date:
    Immediate or subject to successful candidates notice period
  • Hours:
    42.5 hours per week: 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday (1 hour unpaid lunch). Additional hours as required to include Saturdays and at peak times e.g. Harvest
  • Salary:
    £Competitive, depending on experience, plus a profit related bonus and company car
