On Wednesday 12th September Ernest Doe’s Managing Director, Colin Doe, embarks upon another epic cycling challenge – this time cycling 300 miles from the Olympic village in Stratford, East London all the way to Brussels, via Harwich and Amsterdam. Ziggurat is an annual cycling event organised by people involved in the construction industry in support of Action Medical Research.
The first leg of the journey is an 87 mile ride from London to Harwich which, incredibly, comes directly past the Ulting Head Office at around lunchtime and our Colchester branch in the afternoon. This is clearly not something that happens every day and if anybody would like to offer some encouragement along the route we would be delighted to see you – we are anticipating an ‘unofficial’ stop off outside our Ulting branch some time around 12:45pm and 1:30pm. For more information about the event please visit the official website.
Our construction industry suppliers have been extremely generous with their sponsorship but there’s still time to give your support to this excellent charity which is dedicated to improving the health of babies and children.
The team left Stratford later than scheduled and Colin was the first to arrive at Ulting at around 1:30pm. All the riders seemed in great spirits despite quite a cold start and the weather warmed up during the first leg of the journey which made the experience more enjoyable. Here are just a few photographs taken at our HQ earlier today ….
