After an impressive 47 years with Ernest Doe, our Used Agricultural Equipment Manager Paul Wylie retired on Friday 22nd September. He is the fourth retiree this year to have achieved more than 45 years service for the company, following in the footsteps of Les Boniface, Tony Houlding and Angela Cockett.
Paul began his career as a Service apprentice at our Rochford branch and worked his way through the company in both service and sales positions for the first 19 years.
For the last 28 years however, Paul has been our Used Agricultural Equipment Manager, with the statistics showing he has sold over 8,000 used tractors and 2,500 used combines, to many different countries around the world.
Over 100 guests, some having travelled great distances from a number of European countries, gathered at Prested Hall in Essex to help Paul celebrate his retirement and hear many stories about the old times.
After speeches from Managing Director Colin Doe, and Sales Director Graham Parker, Paul turned the tables with an Awards Ceremony, where he presented Colin Doe and Graham Parker with “Best Boss” Awards, and Lorraine Chipperfield with a “Best Secretary” Award.
Everyone at Ernest Doe would like to wish Paul and his wife Erica a very long, happy and healthy retirement! With a new addition to the family, little Ella the Border Collie, it seems they will very much have their hands full!
Below are some photos from the evening at Prested Hall.
